New Jersey – Fall 2021
During the Fall in New jersey, we went to see Lucy the Elephant in Margate with our friend Keisha. We were also able to catch a few local events such as a hobby store grand re-opening where vendors were selling all kinds of collectibles and toys.
We also took the time to do some maintenance on the bus, especially washing the roof after being parked under some trees all summer. Washing and scrubbing the roof usually takes a couple of hours; the paint we used is supposed to repel mildew. Nothing makes the bus look crispier than when the roof is bright white.
We started to install FRP in the bathroom. It’s been functional as is since we took off in 2019, but we never put the finishing touches on it. Part of the reason for not finishing it earlier was because we were uncertain how often we would have access to a shower outside of the bus and we didn’t want to add the weight and permanence of a shower pan and tile if we weren’t really going to use it. Now we know we can manage without a shower inside and don’t need to waterproof the room.
We also did a swap on our muffler pipe. It was very rusted and close to falling off, so we replaced it with a new length of pipe and new mounts. We also shortened it a bit and it now exhausts out to the side instead of all the way in the back of the bus.
At the end of the Six Flags season, Keisha and Elle went to Fright Fest 2021 to enjoy the rides and the scares.
We also celebrated Elle’s birthday in September.
