07/01-07/31/2020: We celebrated Jake’s birthday at home with a delicious black forest cake that I picked up from our favorite local bakery. Jake and Alex went on a kayak journey on a clear day and got some awesome photos of the wildlife and more.

Beech Hill and the Beech Nut

This little hut on the top of the hill was once a vacation home for a family who had to travel here by horse and carriage. The 2 mile hike up the hill is wooded, but once you reach the top of the hill, there are ocean views 180 degrees and fields of wildflowers on the other 180 degrees.

Then we took a hike up Bald Rock Mountain and gathered wild blueberries from the side of the hills. We had packed a lunch, so we had these sandwich containers that we used to collect them. We made blueberry pancakes the following day.
