Love, VA – Spring 2023
From January to the end of April, we worked at Love Ridge Mountain Lodging, a cabin rental property outside of Waynesboro with several romance themed cabins and chalets. We were hired by the new owners of the property to turn a large unused part of the grounds into campsites for couples who want to camp outdoors on the mountain ridge.
We spent the 4 months surveying, clearing, designing, planning, and installing everything needed for these campsites. There were also a few painting jobs that I couldn’t pass up since I like to paint. Some sites existed, but were very overgrown. We got a lot of fog and unpredictable weather at the altitude that we were at, but we got the job done and are SUPER proud of the outcome.
When the weather finally defrosted, we went and explored the parks, had some fun nights out with our co-workers [shout out to Noirin and Josh for your hospitality], and enjoyed the local art and food. There were tons of murals in the nearby town of Waynesboro and plenty of coffee shops to keep us entertained.
