Lancaster, PA – Fall 2022
The beginning of Fall marks my favorite season and the countdown to my birthday in September. When we arrived in Lancaster, I checked the event schedule on the city website to make sure we got tickets in time for any popular event that we might want to go to in the summer.
It just so happened that the Lancaster Hot Air Balloon Festival was happening on the weekend of my birthday. I bought the tickets well in advance and I’m glad I did because, besides the Hershey RV Show, this was the biggest event of the year.
We started the season with only three couples and by the end of September, Jake and I were the only couple remaining. The owner had decided to sell the campground to a chain and exit the camping business and had essentially decided not to re-hire for the last two months of business. We ran all of the park and events by ourselves for the last two months, including all of the scheduled Halloween activities.
In November, the campground was sold and we stayed for two weeks to work with the new owners and familiarize them with the campground that they just purchased. After they got the hang of their new park, we left and moved on to our next adventure.
