12/26/2019-01/02/2020: We were finally able to make it to the family vacation for the first time in seven years. Previously, we had work we couldn’t take days off from, pets we could not leave in the care of another person, or financial limitations keeping us from joining the family for the annual trip to the cabins in North Carolina.

Now that we live in the bus and on the road full time, we are able to travel when we want to, have our pets with us at all times, and never have to leave the comfort of our home, which is great.

During this trip, we stayed in the bus parked outside of the cabin and hooked up to the power in the garage. We were able to sleep in our own bed and still be able to have breakfast with the family in the morning.

My brother also chose this opportunity to propose to his girlfriend, now fiance, Krystina. We all got dressed and gave her the impression that we were going down to the lake to take a traditional family photo together as a group. We took our family photos, but then Reinol surprised her by getting on one knee and proposing in front of us all. it was emotional and romantic, and of course, she said yes.

We celebrated at Buck’s cabin with the rest of the family who were watching from the cabin balcony with binoculars as Reinol was proposing. (We heard them cheering though the mountains!)
