Living in Maine : Week 4
This week we had a little more down time. We met some wonderful people at the weekly lobster bake and also met a family of 9 living in a 40ft Blue Bird skoolie.

Work Day, Met the Perry’s, Family of 9 living in 40ft Blue Bird.
August 31st:
We hosted the campground’s weekly Lobster Bake and made a few new friends.
September 1st:
Beech Hill Preserve
We took one of our days off from the campground to explore Beech Hill Preserve, a nearby park with a hefty hike through the woods. At the end of the trail sits a stone house with a thatched roof located on the top of a hill that oversees penobscot bay on one side and valleys of wildflowers on the other.
There were people enjoying the sunny weather at the top of the hill, having picnics in the grass, flying kites, riding their bikes, and relaxing with a good book.
Penbay Wellness Trail
After our hike through Beech Hill Preserve, we stopped at the Penbay Wellness Trail, a small and easy walking trail that neighbors the local hospital. The trail meets the shore in one section, so we climbed down the rocks to scout for sea glass in the stones. We found some great pieces including my first sea marble.
September 2nd:
Flatbread Pizza, Model A
Our hosts, Catherine and Scott, invited us to dinner at the Flatbread Pizza Co. down the street. We rode in style in Scott’s Model A. We had a great dinner and great conversation with our new friends.
September 3rd:
Team Time Tuesday, Lobster Ceviche
September 4th:
Jake and I took our rainy day off to paint some stones to leave at the campground for other campers to find.
